Kiara's voice actress: Eden Riegel

On the 14th it was reveled that Eden Riegel would provide the voice of Kiara in the upcoming Disney Junior show The Lion Guard, taking the place of Neve Campbell from the 1998 film The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride.   

She has a soft voice that's perfect for the role of the future queen of the Pride Lands.

Robert Guillaume interviewed on The Tiara Talk Show

I know this is kinda belated, but on August 18th 2015, the voice of Rafiki in The Lion King, The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, and The Lion King 1 1\2, was interviewed on a talk show called The Tiara Talk Show.



He talks about quite a few things, including the fact that he thought was going to be voicing Mufasa, and how he came up with Rafiki's voice.

The Lion King was the main focus of the interview, but Simba's Pride was touched upon a little bit:

Interviewer:  But you revisited Rafiki for a second time in Lion King 2. And Rafiki gets his own song, which is actually one of my favorites, which is Upendi, about falling in love.

Robert Guillaume: Yeah well, it's always fun for me to record some singing, cause it was my first love.


Also not to mention at the opening of the video they even play Upendi.

The only reason I found this video was due to a tweet reblogged by Kovu's voice actor Jason Marsden,





It's a nice listen if you love The Lion King, and it'll give you something to listen to while you wait for The Lion Guard in November.

A run down of my "Kiara in The Lion Guard" Site

Due to my absolute love of the second Lion King and Kiara, I made a site that will be devoted to her appearances in the show, and now also about the Outlands.

 Nothing really special about the homepage. As it says: "Since the show hasn't premiered yet, there's not much to put on the site yet."


Press Mentions

A rather short list of mentions Kiara has gotten in the press. Most of the news sources basically say those exact two things in regards to her, but perhaps I should try and dig a little deeper and see what else there is.

Videos

This page is about videos of or that relate to Kiara in The Lion Guard. Videos that are not all about here have points of interest listed below, along with a short transcript of that point.

For example under the D23 expo video we have this:

Ford Riley: In the original Lion King feature, there's an image that everybody knows: at the beginning and end of the film we see Rafiki holding up the first born cub of The Lion King, showing to all the animals of the Pride Lands, their future king or queen. But what about the second born cub? Where do they fit in into the Circle of Life? Well that's our story: The story of The Lion Guard. In the upcoming production we'll meet Kion. He is the son of Simba, and the younger brother of Kiara, the future queen of the Pride Lands. And we'll learn that the traditional role for the second born of the lion king, is to lead the lion guard. 




Can't Wait to be Queen

Can't Wait to be Queen, has been listed as an upcoming book, and it's most likely this cub is Kiara. Although the cover is not final and is subject to change. When merchandise starts being made, I'll make some proper merchandise pages.


Outlands Gallery

Since the Outlands will be in the series, I found it appropriate to make a page dedicated to it. I screencapped the current pictures on there from the preview video and when the show airs I intend to get some more. ...Unless it turns out this is supposed to be the Elephant Graveyard, despite it's name.



I hope to improve this site and add more to it, and I'll report on any significant updates on this blog.

D23 Expo

Some one has uploaded the D23 Expo for The Lion Guard on Youtube


 Ford Riley (Who has worked on Disney Junior shows in the past like Special Agent Oso) talks partly about how Kion is the second born cub of Simba and Nala, and that his place in The Circle of Life is different than his older sister Kiara, who will lead the Pride Lands.


 When he says "the younger brother of Kiara, the future queen of the Pride Lands.", you can hear some one gasp, a gasp that seems excited for the return of Kiara, who has only recently been seen in current Lion King re tellings, in this form:

It may not be as big as a role as Kion has, but Kiara being future queen is important to the show and helps define Kion and his place in the Circle of Life.

More of the Outlands in The Lion Guard

As mentioned in the last post, the Outlands make an appearance in The Lion Guard. However Disney has now put out an extended clip that shows more of the Outlands in it's Elephant Graveyard-esque glory. Also we learn Simba's possibly still possibly a worrywort like he was in Simba's Pride. Here's the extended clip:

We've got our first clip for the upcoming Disney Junior show The Lion Guard. The clip features Kion arguing with some hyenas to let his honey badger friend Bunga go.

However it's got an interesting exchange between Kion and one of the hyenas:

Kion: Let him go! You hyenas don't want any trouble with my dad!

Hyena: Oooh, like how you'd get into trouble if you came into The Outlands!


If you recall, the Outlands was the place Zira and her Pride were banished to, where they had "Little food...less water..."

If The Lion Guard is post Simba's Pride, then it's possible they over took the Outlands after the Outsiders joined the Pride Lands. Nuka made it clear they no longer lived in the Elephant Graveyard with his line, "This place is even creepier since the hyenas ran off." while he and Vitani were there.

We'll have to wait and see how things connect to The Outlands though.

Welcome! This blog is all about news regarding The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, and the petition to give it more attention, which at this current time has 106 signatures!

There may not be much news currently, but Kiara is set to appear in the upcoming show, The Lion Guard. I set up a website to document her appearances in the show here.
